Registration Information


KazCon will be held in Lawrence, Kansas on August 6-9, 2009.

Memberships are limited to 150 attendees and will be offered on a first come/first serve basis. Due to the hotel's location, there are no restaurants within a reasonable walking distance. Therefore, membership costs will include three breakfasts (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), two lunches (Friday and Saturday) and finger foods Saturday night. We realize this makes the membership costs more expensive, but it will greatly reduce the amount of money you will need to spend on food during the convention. You will be on your own for food Thursday night, Friday night and Sunday afternoon. There is a restaurant inside the hotel, and for those interested, we will be hosting a pizza party Friday night in the committee suite. The pizza party will be free if you're on an extremely tight budget, but we will be asking for donations at the door to help pay for the pizza and other food if you are able to chip in!

In addition to the registration material and meals, the registration costs will also include a certain number of raffle tickets. The number of raffle tickets you receive will depend on when we receive your registration. The earlier you register, the more tickets you will get for free. We hope to have some wonderful items available!

Attending memberships are $115 through June 10, 2009. All attending memberships postmarked after June 10, 2009 will be $140. No memberships will be accepted after July 23, 2009. Attending memberships include access to and participation in all con events and activities.

Hell Hounds will receive a reduced membership rate of $90 for working a minimum number of hours during the con. We will try to accommodate specific scheduling requests based on the order in which they are received.

Supporting memberships are $15. Supporting memberships are for those who can't physically attend the con. Supporting members will receive all membership materials, a raffle ticket, and will be entitled to vote in the fanfic contest as well as participate in the fanfic, artwork, songvid, and paranormal scavenger hunt contests. Supporting members will also be able to buy additional raffles.

Single day passes and children's memberships are NOT available. Babes in arms and children in direct control of parents or guardians at all times do not need memberships; if a child is old enough to be on his/her own, they need an Attending membership.

PAYMENT: Checks and money orders should be made payable to Tonya Howell, in US funds only, please. Please include "KazCon" in the notes/memo section of your check or money order.

Credit card payments *cannot* be accepted. If you need to pay through Paypal, it can be done on a limited basis. Please contact Tonya at tmh@kc.rr.com for more information.

IMPORTANT: When mailing your payment, please fill out and mail this FORM. Make sure you include your name, address, and phone number including area code. You may be listed under a fannish name if you wish, but we must also have your legal name for our records. Only your fannish name will be used at the convention.

We will try to accommodate all membership changes (new memberships, converting from Supporting to Attending, or from Attending to Supporting, etc.) requested until the May 31 deadline. Full refunds will only be made in proven cases of personal hardship. No membership changes or refunds will be made after the May 31 deadline, except for those wishing to sign up as Hell Hounds (if Hell Hounds are still needed).
