Supernatural Vidding Contest

Songvid Contest/Premieres

Supernatural has spun a lot of songvids and is one of the hottest fandoms in the vidding universe. In honor of that interest, on Friday night, there will be a Supernatural songvid contest. For those who do not wish to enter the official contest, but would still like to submit a new songvid to premiere at KazCon, a songvid premiere will be held immediately after the contest closes.

Who May Enter: All songvid producers who are entering the contest must at least be a supporting member of KazCon 2009. However, you do not have to be a member of KazCon if you wish to premiere your vid outside of the contest.
Songvid Format: The preferred method of submittal will be for songvids to be uploaded to an online host where they will be downloaded and copied onto a dvd for the showing on Friday night. If you are unable to upload your songvid, please contact the committee. We will try to find a way to accommodate entries in VHS or DVD format. If we are able to include entries submitted on cassette/disk, these entries shall be mailed to the committee. If the producer attends, they will be able to retrieve their cassette/disk at the end of the convention. Otherwise, the cassette/disk will be non-returnable.

All uploaded vids must be in one of the following formats: mpeg2, mpeg4, avi, mov, or wmv.

Songvid DVD: All entries will be placed on an official KazCon DVD that will be shown on Friday night during the vid contest/premiere. The songvids may also be shown at later times throughout the rest of the convention. The official KazCon DVD will be made available for sale at the convention and online directly after the convention. All proceeds from the DVD will either support the costs of the convention or be donated to charity. Trib copies will be made available. After the convention, producers may post their vids online or to other sources.
Entry Procedures: A maximum of three vids may be submitted per producer. Producers shall send the committee the list of videos they are submitting along with the following information for each songvid:

Eligibility: All songvids have to be "new" and cannot be previously posted or available to the fandom. Slash or wincest vids are not eligible for the vid contest or vid premiere on Friday night.
Voting: Ballots will be available Friday night. Fans may list their favorite three songvids in both categories. Three points will be awarded for each first place vote, two points for second, and one point for third. In case of a tie for first place in any category, the video receiving the most first place votes will win.
Timeframe: All entries must be submitted no later than July 18, 2009.
